Amazon has been called many things in the past. Homophobic, not being one of them. So what the hell is going on over there?
A post on Salon.com reports that gay titles are disappearing from best seller lists and searches, and their sales ranking are being stripped, even. Mark Probst, a writer, noticed this fate befall his title "The Filly."
Probst received this response after writing to Amazon:
"In consideration of our entire customer base, we exclude 'adult' material from appearing in some searches and best seller lists. Since these lists are generated using sales ranks, adult materials must also be excluded from that feature."
Visit Salon.com and see hypocritical examples of this new policy. Like this one: "The Complete A**holes Guide to Handling Chicks." Yeah, this is okay for the precious children to check out, but "Heather Has Two Mommies" is apparently inappropriate.
Amazon told the AP five days ago that it was glitch. A glitch is a "sudden, usually temporary malfunction." So what gives? How long do we give Amazon before we ban those a**holes? None. There are many other websites out there selling exactly the same things as Amazon for the same prices, same everything.
So let's ban those glitchin' bitches until we get a good explanation.
